Lessons Learned

What did you learn during the process of writing your game proposal? What would you do differently? What do you still need to learn?

Learning how to do game proposals are very hard. You have to have it just right or it is nothing. Sometimes you can have it just close but it can be better.

I learned that typing up all the text into flash can be difficult. I also learned that it is important to not add too much text to one slide. I would have more pictures and also less text per page. - Toby Devine

Kris ~ YO! This is Kris, I learned that I can get graded for things im not suppose to get graded for, like spelling and grammer ^^ Ok but seriously I learned that alot of people dont know alot of the lexicon that is needed when dealing with video games and a few other things.

I learned that storyboards do help to put your thoughts in order (and force you to finalize your decisions) I also learned that Flash takes a whole lot of time to make, Unfortunately.

Yes our characters are ok, becouse even though they were not made in flash they we're still made by us, and there for should be useable by us, we are not copying anything or anything like that, they are unqiue character designs and they're awseme however I know that Im probably baised

The characters that The Serial Experimenters made, I do believe, are extremely appropriate for this class because it is original non copy- written and entertaining for the children who play it. Yes indeed they are sprites but they were made using an editor that allows anyone to use it for free. They were the ones who put it together so its still their idea and if they wanted to they could have made them by going into photo shop and coloring each dot individually...=Toby Devine

I learned how to program. Also it takes a long time to get it all done. -Dustin Webley

I learned the very basics of programming games. It's, actually, kinda easy. Funny, no? -James Bohon

i like the characters in toby, brandon, and kris's game. They shouldn't be offensive to any person, so they will be good.

I learned that it is not as easy to make a game as it seems. I don't know really i really don't think i would changed anything. I still need to learn how to use the tools in flash better.

I have learn that making just a simple game isn't easy at all. It took me about a total of a whole class period just to make a figure just past a stick person because I'm trying to have a little detail in it.

I like Brandon, Toby, and Kris' character's. They are very cute, and they are not offensive.

I think the characters are appropriate. They are quite a bit blurry.Toby, Brandon, and Kris should create their characters using a vector type program. Sorry guys but the characters do look like they were traced or just copied. You should try to make the characters more your own. Don't make the character resemble something that is already created. Make it unique. I think you will be amazed with the outcome. :)

P.S. I was talking about the characters in the scene with the brick wall that flashes.

Our Sprites should be used for three reasons. 1. Our other character art lowers the quality of the game 2. It lends to the games old school feel 3. They were made by us

I learned the correct format for formal writing. I learned that the proposals weren't as easy as I thought they would be. I think Kris, Toby and Brandon's proposal is appropriate for this class. It is very professional-looking and they did a really good job on it.-Cassie
